Visual Basic: Introduction

Visual Basic is a programming language made for creating software, and is growing more and more popular due to its ease of use, and the fact that its free!
Visual basic is used mainly because it is very quick to create a program with a proper GUI(Graphical User Interface).

You need a VB compiler, I use Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition which is absolutely free.

The best way to get started with VB is to simply try things - open up the program, drag some stuff around, add some code and you have yourself a program!
